Work environments and special occasions often call for dress shoes. Dress shoes may be high heels, elegant flats or oxford shoes, to name a few. Dress shoes are typically designed with style coming before function, which can make them less durable and warm than their casual counterparts. Cold feet can be avoided while wearing dress shoes with some added styling and precautions.

Warm Your Feet In Pumps

Step 1

Put on a pair of thick tights. Select cotton- or fleece-lined tights in a dark color for a warm yet sleek look.

Step 2

Heat the shoes. Place them 5 to 10 inches away from a safe heat source, and allow them to sit for 5 minutes.

Step 3

Line the pumps with silk shoe liners to lock in heat. Silk liners can be found at most department and shoe stores.

Warm Your Feet In Oxfords

Step 1

Pull on a pair of black wool socks, adding a layer of warmth while maintaining the dressed-up look.

Step 2

Place toe warmers in the shoes. Select self-heating toe warmers that will generate continuous heat as they make contact with the feet and shoes.

Step 3

Tie the shoes loosely to keep circulation moving throughout wear, allowing for maintained warmth.
